The neighbor might be a widow,
fatherless
children and their mom, or an individual who recently lost their job or perhaps the neighbor comes
from outside our church walls like a
person transitioning out of prison, an eighteen-year-old that has aged out of the foster care
system, a soldier returning from war. This support group
morphs into a family. A chosen, healthy, spiritual family and when this happens you
hear:
■the widow
saying, "they cried and prayed with me, they helped me with the legal and insurance
issues."
 ■ the
fatherless sixteen-year-old girl saying, "the men taught me how to drive, it is what Dad's
do."

SITG, IS
SCRIPTURE! EVERYONE GROWS and those who participate are never the
same. It looks like this:
Prospective neighbors go thru an intake process to make sure it is
right for them and for the church. Training follows and a covenant is signed; two meetings per
month for twelve months. SITG is safe and proven, it is simply the love of God expressed through
the people of God and that isTRANSFORMATIONAL!

 ■ the fatherless boy telling his teacher, "I
have
3 moms, 4 dads and ten brothers and
sisters."
 ■ an x-offender who covered unspeakable
childhood abuse with drugs and paid a six-year
price of incarceration for it say I did not know there was such a thing as a healthy man and now I
have brothers and sisters.

■ an Iraq
returning soldier say "my brothers get it,
they are all Vietnam vets."
